Kell Brook stepped into the ring against Carson Jones expecting to seal a world title fight with relative ease.

It was labelled ‘Edge of Glory’ and supposed to propel Brook into a world title fight, however things didn’t go to plan for the Special One who squeezed past the American by the closest of margins and now faces another eliminator against Hector Saldivia in Sheffield on Saturday night.

Looking at Brook after the Jones fight you wouldn’t have known he had won: he had a punched-up face, bloody shorts and a weary look about him, not to mention his broken nose.

But the difficulties the 26-year-old faced against the American have forced him to change his lifestyle, his nutrition and now the special one is looking better than ever.

Brook said: “If Hector has gone off my last performance, well that wasn’t me. Things have been addressed and I’m a different animal. I am in the best shape I have been in, and I have been fighting for 17 years.”

“I’m eating well, drinking plenty and I have never been better. I am taking plenty of recovery time and I have had a brilliant 12-week training camp. I am pushing myself more than ever before.”

Just last Friday Brook fans got a taste of the new, superb physique he has achieved. He looked stronger and sharper than ever and should definitely beat Saldivia to get a crack at a world title and Kell knows just how important this fight is.

“I want this more than ever and I have got the eye of the tiger. I have left no stone unturned and this Saturday you’re going to see the best of Kell Brook – one that’s good enough to take care of Hector Saldivia.” Brook Said.

“This fight is an important one for me and my team; I’m one step away from having a crack at being the world champion”.

Both fighters, who met for the first time on Tuesday, have approached each other with respect but off course, Saldivia has come to upset the Sheffield fans.

Saturday night promises to be a special occasion and one that should see Kell Brook get the title shot he has dreamt off.
