November 10th is right around the corner and on this day, die hard boxing fans have an early reason to be thankful. Two fighters in the prime of their careers destined to collide, will finally clash for supremacy and inch their way closer to the top of the food chain.

Showtime will carry the Golden Boy Promotions card with 26 year old Junior bantamweight titlist Abner Mares’ (24-0-1, 13 KO’s) facing 27 year old bantamweight titleholder Anselmo “Chemito” Moreno (33-1-1, 12 KO’s) headlining at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

Both have fought credible opposition on the same cards for their last few fights, with Mares defeating Eric Morel and Joseph Agbeko in his last two bouts and Moreno overcoming David De La Mora and Vic Darchinyan. After about a year of waiting to see if their courses would meet, fans get to witness the all around solid Mares pitted against an awkward, slick Moreno.

The dice could roll in either fighter’s corner as styles are expected to create toe to toe action and fans get an opportunity to witness calculated offensive attacks from both ends. This is one of those bouts where one can foreshadow a classic war ready to unfold; and with the recent trend of Golden Boy Promotions filling the under card with quality bouts, spectators may even get an appetizer to go with the main course.
