Debuting in his first televised premium network fight,  20 year old junior middleweight prospect, Eddie Gomez, improved his record to 11-0 (8KOs) with a KO win over the game but over-matched Saul Benitez.
Gomez started off fast, fighting inside, which seemed to have the taller Benitez uncomfortable and unwilling to exchange. Throwing more punches in round 2, Benitez was slightly more effective, but walked into a blazing fast left hand that knocked him out cold in the middle of the ring. With great speed and power, Gomez showed why he is a highly praised prospect. Being the youngest fighter on Showtime’s impressive card last night, fighting in front of family and friends, he certainly did not disappoint.
